Why do those in the international community who expressed outrage over Gaza stay silent while Tamils die? Asks Geoffrey Alderman a column writer for the UK’s influential daily The Guardian. In a commentary titled Silence over Sri Lanka published on the 27th of April 2009; he points out that “Yes, this bloody conflict is reaching its bloody conclusion. So where, I ask myself, is the international outrage against the government of Sri Lanka?” Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) is a banned organisation in more than 30 countries including UK, USA, EU and India and it is said to have committed more suicide attacks than Hamas, Islamic Jihad and al-Qaida combined.
